This has been a very busy week for me.  I have completed Lab 4, but unfortunately I am still having a problem with my receiver agreement.  I have deleted and recreated that part of the lab and am still having no luck.

Other than that, things are going well.

Well, I am still having problems with my Lab 3b.  When I run my configuration test, it's telling me that I have a problem with receiver determination.  I went back and closely looked at the instructions for lab 3, and it appears that my receiver determination is configured correctly.  So, I'll have to figure out what is happening there.

Other than that, everything is going well.  I am almost finished with my term paper on the Semantic Web.  There are some very interesting articles out there regarding the Semantic Web.

I'm interviewing at Johnson Controls on Wednesday for a Wiki administrator position.  They want me to come in for 3 hours on interviews; hopefully it won't be too painful.

Well, I had a very nice spring break that I spent with some friends in St. Louis.  I returned to Milwaukee on Saturday only to find over a foot of snow!  It certainly doesn't feel like spring yet.

I have been on the lookout for an intership opportunity for the past couple of months, and I recently had a very successful interview with Johnson Controls.  JCI is looking to fill a position to manage their enterprise Wiki.  They recently switched wiki providers and are now using Poc MediaWiki, and are in need of someone to set up, and manage it.  I was asked to come in to their office for three more interviews.  Hopefully they go well.

I still need to complete the second part (configuration) of lab 3.   But the first part where we worked with mappings went very well.

See you in class...

Well, I’m finally over this horrible cold that I’ve had for the past week or so.  This Wisconsin weather is killing me.

Although I was unable to attend the lab last week (due to illness), I found the SAP XI lab to be fairly straightforward and simple.  The SAP XI application has a very clean and easy-to-use interface, which is nice.  I'm looking forward to working with mappings, and learning more about SAP XI.

I have begun my research for the term paper.  As mentioned earlier, I will be writing my paper on the semantic Web.  There is a surplus of information out there regarding the semantic Web.  The hard part will be sifting through it all to find some useful information.

Last week Tuesday I attended the career fair where I talked with a few employers about possible internship opportunites.  One employer from Addecco briefly brought up the topic of SAP that relates relates to this class.  Addecco is a technical staffiing firm that provides companies with IT professionals for a variety of projects, including SAP and integration projects.

I'm looking forward to the lab this week and working with SAP XI.  I have never worked with SAP software and I'm excited to begin using it.

Not much else to say other than that I am getting over a nasty cold.  I can't wait for spring.

After completing Lab assignment 1, I now have a better understanding of XML.  Prior to this class, I hadn't worked with XML at all.  I recently transferred from Saint Louis University where we worked primarily with Java.  I have heard of XML, and understood a few of the basic concepts, but never actually written it.

Actually, prior to this semester, I have never even used Visual Studio.  So far, I really like using Visual Studio.  It seems like it provides some very nice code editing features that Java editors lacked.

I am looking forward to this weeks discussion of middleware and SAP XI.  From my understanding, middleware is a type of software that allows for communication between multiple systems.  This seems like a very interesting topic because of the importance of system compatibility within an organization.  Within an organization, it's crucial that systems are able to "sync up" and work talk to each other.  I am really looking forward to learning more about the topic.
