I just finished up with the midterm exam so I suppose that is what I will write about.  Going into the exam I thought it was going to be extremely difficult because it was an online exam.  I'm feeling pretty confident though after taking the exam and it seems like as long as you make it to lecture you should do just fine on it.  Hopefully the same is true with the final!

I just finished up reading the Healthcare SOA article that is due this evening.  I thought it was a pretty interesting article, I found it to be more interesting then the last required reading.  I'm actually looking for jobs right now as I'm graduating at the end of this semester.  I was real interested in this article because a couple of the job opportunities I'm looking at are in hospital IT departments.  One part of the article that I thought was especially interesting was when they stated that web services were used in order to provide patient pictures, vitals, and other details to doctors remotely via a web browser.  Being that this article was written in 2005 I am curious to know if this has been adopted by most hospitals or whether it is still in development for many.

I just got done running through the XML excercise.  Everything went pretty well, it definitely helped to have Prof. Haines sample XML document already prepared.  I did have one question though.  When we were in class and Prof. Haines was going through the example he was hitting some key that showed what his possible options were in the XML document (ie. phone, email, and such) what is the key or key combo that triggers that?

Tomorrow I'll be checking out the career fair and seeing what companies interest me.  It should be interesting to see how many of the companies are looking for someone with SAP or similar experience.  I know I've seen some posts on job finders looking for it, but I'm curious how many companies are looking for new graduates with experience rather then previous job experience.

Alright, so this is my second blog posting.  I don't have much to write about here yet other then what we did in class on Monday.  I liked having the excercise to do which kind of broke up the class and gave a real life example of something that's relatable.  As a side note, I've been looking for jobs after graduation and I'm noticing that there are a lot of postings for companies looking employees with SAP experience.

This is my first blog for the semester, and my first blog ever.  Since we've only covered one week so far all that I can really say is that I am excited to see how this course develops.  It seems like it's going to be pretty interesting and also a course that will provide us with some tools for real world situations.
